Home to some of Melbourne's proudest indoor climbing walls, equipped for top roping, lead climbing and learning the ropes. With over one hundred ever-changing routes, there's a climb for everyone.
First time climbers
No need to book in your day pass. All you'll need to do is sign our safety waiver and find a partner to join you! We have gear to hire, and instructors to show you the ropes on site.

families
Climbing at Cliffhanger is the perfect family outing. The walls vary in difficulty and size, ensuring everyone has a chance of getting to the top. No need to book, just sign our safety waiver below.

reborn in 2022
Melbourne's OG climbing gym and one of Australia's first, Cliffhanger has been passed down through generations of climbers since 1993. Boasting the tallest indoor climbing wall in Australia, the facility is an iconic destination and home away from home for much of Melbourne's passionate climbing community.
2022 marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the facility. The walls were upgraded, lead facilities improved and hold selection expanded bringing the gym up to date with state of the art facilities.
