School excursions on Australia’s tallest climbing wall, where every student climbs and belays.

We can’t wait to welcome your school group to Cliffhanger, Melbourne’s OG climbing gym. Climbing teaches things a classroom can’t: trust, communication, resilience and the confidence that comes from topping out on a 19-metre wall, the tallest indoor climbing wall in Australia. Students work in pairs, one climbing and one belaying, so everyone is involved for the whole session and everyone learns to look after a mate. Reach further, climb together: that’s the lesson every student takes home.

What to expect

Our instructors will take your students through a thorough safety induction, teaching them everything they need to know to belay and climb together.

We can provide one-off sessions or programming tailored to your students over several weeks.

Programming can be adapted to your students' needs, and our dedicated instructors will help to ensure that every student makes progress in their climbing across the program.

Details

Usual sessions range from 1.5–2hrs.

The gym is available for school groups outside of opening hours.

Discount available for bookings of 3 or more sessions.

All gear included.

We have space available for lessons, lunch or a debrief on the day.
