Climbing gym in Melbourne's west

Why climb at Cliffhanger

The tallest indoor climbing wall in Australia, at 19 metres.

30 top rope walls and 24 lead lines: real rope climbing, not just bouldering.

More than 100 routes from grade 6 to 29+, with new climbs every week.

No booking needed. Sign the waiver, hire gear and our staff will show you the ropes.

Do I need to book or have experience?

No and no. Casual climbing is walk-in: create your account and sign the safety waiver on our customer portal before you arrive, hire a harness and shoes at reception, and our staff will show you how to climb and belay. Climbers under 13 can climb but can't hold the ropes, so bring an adult to belay.

Ropes or bouldering?

Bouldering gyms have short walls climbed without ropes. At Cliffhanger you climb on ropes, up to 19 metres high: top rope (the rope is already anchored at the top, so it's great for beginners), or lead climbing once you've passed a lead assessment. It's the full-height experience you can't get in a bouldering gym.
